After completing a degree in photojournalism, she started her professional career with the renowned Architectural Digest magazine under its director Paige Rense and eventually went on to begin her own section titled Mary Finds'. It featured video clips on the home's renovation and decor and she returned to Texas and opened her firm with the same name. She focuses on restoring antiques and furnishing. A&E Television spied her in her antique shops, and she had the opportunity to be a part of Texas Storage wars. The three-season show proved to be a huge hit. In the fifth season, her popularity led to her being cast on Storage Wars. Storage Wars has featured her for the entire duration of subsequent seasons. The show has featured her on a few occasions. the show up until season 12.
